![]() It was our second time experience, this time with the whole family after 16 years, and nothing has changed! There are a lot of activities to do around the property with 2 to 3 treks arranged everyday that takes us to explore the beauties nearby. Wildernest is not a very popular place yet a must to visit for groups of all ages. So just ensure you have no eatables in any of your bags inside the room.… To our surprise a rat chewed into one of our bags that had some eatable inside it. We were instructed not to but we thought we had it packed and concealed well. Note: Be careful to not have any food items with you in the room. ![]() Must visit for anyone who wants to experience nature closely. Shekrus also pay a visit and so do monekeys. The infinity pool is a unique experience given the view as well as the fact that you can actually spot rare frog specie nesting or a snake resting somewhere close. There were evening cultural performances by the locals that were mesmerizing. The food served is almost entirely very local, simple and soulful. There are naturalists that share wonderful info about the local flora and fauna. The whole stay was full of activities like nature walks, hikes including one to a beautiful waterfall (with a little but beautiful surprise at the end). The sit-out overlooked the woods and the valley with butterflies finding their resting pace for the night. The rooms were neatly done in wood and the bed linen was good quality. Our cottage was at one end of the property, so we had to walk a bit through tastefully created path through dense greenery. We were welcomed by the staff at the landing deck on the top of the hill and given introduction of the place and the activities. My daughters had their mouths wide open in awe through out. The sun was setting in the distance, the wooded valley with waterfalls on one side and the clouds embracing the hills here and there, it was all like a movie scene. The magic of the valley that surrounds the property started revealing itself gradually. We were still absorbing it all and the trolley started moving up the hill. The rustic looking lamps along the path guide you to a wooden deck amongst the trees. The parking area laden in evening mist itself was beautiful. As soon as we entered the property from the highway, we knew we were in for something special. For the wild at heart, this is just the way it should be. This can get outright uncomfortable for those scared of insects, ants, snakes and the kind. This is not your regular resort, it is a resort that brings to you wilderness blended with tasteful luxury in a manner that attempts to not take away anything from the nature. We visited Wildernest in May, 2022 as a family of four. ![]() Extra beds provided were drenched in water. Small insects, snails were also seen in the rooms. There will be cold air rush in the cottages. Feedback to the management is cottages are not fully covered. One more attraction is infinity swimming pool. Food is superb but options can be increased for the money they are charging. It has amazing cottages made of wood in between the forest. Due to which could not do many outdoor activities. Amidst the nature you are travelling in crane. One attraction of this place is the CRANE that takes you from car parking to the resort reception. Wish to spend the good time with nature then visit this place. It is little difficult to get the booking on weekend as it highest operational Nature Resort. We absolutely enjoyed our stay here starting from the awesome views, some amazing local dishes, the folk dance FUGDI, trekking trails.… One unique thing about this place is the Cable Car that takes you from car parking to the resort reception area, you get to experience the breathtaking views of mountains in the cable car. The staff is also very humble and helpful. They offer many activities like trekking, pottery, mehendi, folk dance, documentary movies etc. They serve delicious food, including regional delicacies like Bhakri, jhunka vadi, metkut, usal, fodni poha, masala bhat, solkadhi etc. The best part about Wildernest is the infinity pool, we spent most of the time in the pool enjoying the spectacular view of Chorla Ghats. We did spot some rare species of birds from our balcony. The view of valley along with the water fall is mesmerising. It is wonderful and completely setup in mid of jungle, it is a must visit for all nature lovers.We visited in December and had booked valley view family cottage, it was called 'Garud'.
